The UCA Family Network Newsletter provides an opportunity to share UCA information, news and events with the parents and families of our students. This is a monthly publication you can expect in your inboxes on the 1st of every month during the academic year. We try to keep things relevant, but if there are specific topics you would find interesting, please send an email to families@uca.edu.


About 10 years ago, I found a life-changing book called Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most by Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton and Sheila Heen. What I found in my now well-worn book is a roadmap to working through just about every problematic conversation that I may have. Some of this advice makes perfect sense for helping students manage communication challenges they are likely to experience at least once in their college careers.

If you need financial aid to help you pay for college, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2017-18 FAFSA will be available on October 1, 2016 at 12 a.m. CST - three months earlier than usual. Family Education Rights and Privacy Act
FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their records. If a parent or guardian would like access to their educational and/or financial records, you must file a FERPA form with the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Students need to have their UCA ID with them when they visit Financial Aid, Student Accounts and other areas on campus.
